Its LETO 12,000 BTU system costs $799.99 direct and delivers 21.2 SEER2, beating systems that cost twice as much, Filterbuy's own included. The catch is everything after the sale. Senville requires licensed installation, never pays labor on a warranty repair, and moves the air your family breathes through a bare mesh screen.
The Senville LETO SENL-12CD is a 12,000 BTU ductless heat pump rated 21.2 SEER2 at $799.99, roughly $400–600 below a comparable MRCOOL DIY system.
LETO carries 5 years on parts and 5 years on the compressor. Several review sites report 10-year compressor coverage; that figure belongs to AURA.
Senville never covers labor on warranty repairs, and installing it yourself voids the warranty. A licensed technician must evacuate and pressure-test the line set and release the charge. The part is free; the technician is not.

Senville suits one buyer: someone cooling a single room who has a licensed contractor and wants inverter efficiency without a premium nameplate. Senville sells direct and cuts dealer margin out of the price. That is where the savings come from, not cheaper engineering.
The hardware is credible. The LETO SENL-12CD spec sheet documents a UL and AHRI certified unit on R-454B refrigerant. Senville is not a Mitsubishi substitute: housings are lighter, LETO is single-zone only, and support is a call center rather than a dealer network.
The 17.5 dB figure in every Senville listing is the lowest fan speed, not the operating one. The spec sheet lists 25, 32.5, 40.5, and 45 dB as the fan steps up, plus 54 dB outdoors. Treat any single-number decibel claim, Filterbuy's included, as the quietest setting. The weights tell the build story: 19.4 pounds indoors, 61.29 outdoors, both light for the class. Light is not flimsy, and the unit is UL certified, but it explains part of the price gap.
Senville, MRCOOL, and Filterbuy separate on three things: efficiency per dollar, who may install the system, and what it does to the air. Senville wins the first. MRCOOL owns the second. The third is the axis nobody compares on.

The sticker price is not the price. Senville's warranty terms create labor exposure: the share of ownership cost guaranteed to land on you. Two clauses in Senville's warranty documentation drive it. A licensed technician must evacuate and pressure-test the line sets and release the charge, or coverage is void, and Senville never pays repair labor. Federal law reinforces the first: refrigerant handling requires EPA Section 608 certification.

In fairness, this is category-wide. Filterbuy requires licensed installation too, and self-installation voids our warranty exactly as it voids Senville's.
A 2026 note: the IRS states plainly that the 25C credit is not allowed for any property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Tax-credit language still appears on some listings anyway. State and utility rebates may still apply.
Find the contractor first, then buy the equipment. It runs against Filterbuy's own interest to say so, but buying direct only saves money if someone will install what shows up. Contractors are not obligated to install equipment they didn't supply, and many decline. Those who accept usually warrant only their own workmanship, about a year.
Ask any installer, in writing:
Will you install owner-supplied equipment? If no, the online price is irrelevant.
What do you warrant, and for how long? Workmanship coverage is separate from the parts warranty and usually shorter.
Will you provide your license number for warranty registration? Senville's form asks for it.
What is the total quote, including electrical? The LETO 12K needs a dedicated circuit rated for 19A minimum.
One more check: confirm the refrigerant on the listing. Current LETO units ship R-454B, but older R-410A stock still appears on marketplaces, and line sets and parts are not cross-compatible.
The deciding question between Senville and MRCOOL is who may legally touch the refrigerant. MRCOOL's DIY series ships pre-charged Quick Connect line sets so an owner can finish the job, and charges roughly $400 more for the privilege. Since professional installation runs about $1,000 to $3,500, MRCOOL is usually cheaper all-in.

Owners with working units report quiet operation and low bills. Owners who draw a defective one describe long diagnostic chains, including a documented 2026 case that ran to five repair attempts on an 18K LETO. Because Senville pays parts but never labor, each round trip costs another service call.
Senville mini splits use a washable mesh pre-filter, and it is not built to clean your air. The mesh protects the evaporator coil from dust so the system keeps running. It catches hair and lint, not the fine particles and allergens you breathe. No budget spec sheet tells you this.

Confirm the efficiency rating is real. AHRI Directory of Certified Product Performance shows third-party certified SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2 by model number. If the model isn't listed, or the indoor and outdoor units aren't certified as a matched pair, the advertised efficiency is unverified.
Compare certified models and size correctly. ENERGY STAR: Ductless Heating & Cooling lists certified units and explains Manual J sizing. Caveat: it still describes the tax credit as running through 2032; it expired December 31, 2025.
